Kyoto Garden poster illustration to celebrate this special place in London.
Kyoto Garden in London is a stunning gem located in the heart of Holland Park, Kensington. This serene garden, which opened in 1991, has a unique history tied to the Japanese Festival celebrating the centenary of the Japan Society in Britain. The festival featured over 300 events that showcased various aspects of Japanese culture, lasting five months and culminating in notable highlights such as the first-ever sumo wrestling event held outside of Japan at the Royal Albert Hall.
Designed as a `kaiyushiki’ or stroll garden, the Kyoto Garden is a thoughtful gift from the city of Kyoto, crafted with the expertise of several Japanese garden designers. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil waterfall, a peaceful pond, carefully placed stone lanterns, and a variety of meticulously selected trees and flowers, all contributing to the garden’s tranquil ambiance.
